Check out this quick sketch of a map I made of Toronto:
It focuses on three dominant features of the city: Highways, Rivers and Trees.
Toronto’s 400 Series Highways, Ravines and River Valley landscapes define this city, and I celebrate them.
Let me know your thoughts about the map in the comments section below!
Real awesome. Would love to see one with train tracks, bud.
That is a wonderful idea. They were instrumental in shaping the city as well. DONE!

I have to ask why Scarborough is missing on the map, as if the other half of Toronto is missing here. Rouge River and Park, greenest part of Toronto, and 401 and Highway 2A spur. Every other former municipality is shown on this drawing.
Other than that, I found your site through this lovely piece you wrote http://spacing.ca/toronto/2014/01/28/art-deco-eglinton/ I’m going to stroll along there to find out some more. Cheers.
Hi Jose,
Thank you for your comments.
Admittedly, I have a central-Toronto bias (I grew up at Bathurst and Eglinton), but I’m working on expanding my Toronto horizons.
The updated map will undoubtedly include Scarborough and Etobicoke: the entirety of this splendid emerald city. There will also be railways.
All the best,
Daniel
With all that greenness Im for sure heading to Toronto asap! Beautiful painting, I like how people find their own way in expressing their visual perspective of a city
